Tom
Tom has extensive experience working with students from around the world and Europe. He has been hosting students since 2012 with some teenagers but mostly professional adults 18+. His approach to teaching is methodical, enthusiastic and thorough.
Tom lives with his wife Fiona who works for the Government in the textile industry. They have 3 grown up children living in their own homes with very young children. They have a well behaved young black Labrador dog. Tom’s interests are gardening, golf, hill walking and fishing. When not teaching he likes to travel.

The home
The lower half of a substantial Victorian semi detached house. The front half is part of the original house with a large modern extension to the rear, where students enjoy their own self contained bedroom and shower room. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 public rooms and 2 bathrooms altogether. The accommodation is of a high standard throughout. Free Wi-Fi.
Location
The house is located in a sunny quiet street around 150 metres from a main road offering frequent public transport to the city centre. Travel time to the centre is around 20 minutes. There are excellent local shops, restaurants, bars, a theatre and a cinema. Bruntsfield and Morningside are generally considered some of the best areas to live in Edinburgh.
The compact city centre has a number of interesting sights: Edinburgh Castle, High Street/Royal Mile, several museums and art galleries, Botanic gardens, the Royal yacht Britannia. It is easy and enjoyable to walk around the historic city centre. The nearest airport is Edinburgh which is about a 25 or 30 minute taxi drive away.
