Your host
Susan & Peter
Qualified and enthusiastic EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher since 2010. I enjoy being creative and using interactive online tools and resources (such as podcasts, videos, electronic games and quizzes, etc). I have experience of teaching a variety of levels and ages with particular strengths in matching teaching methods and materials to student needs and interests.
I also provide tailor-made courses such as English for Special Purposes (ESP), including business English, technology, science, hospitality and preparation for the Concours des Ecoles de Commerce, TOIEC and BAC exams. I am confident, outgoing, sporty and a keen cyclist. Peter is a former UK Managing Director for a global corporation (DEKRA), 6 times UK champion in road cycling and former host family for university students in the UK. He is currently working as a gite manager. Susan & Peter have 2 children and 2 grandchildren currently based in the UK. Still involved in road racing and extremely fit and active. Peter is not a French speaker but a good communicator, boardgame specialist and a funny guy!
The home
Bright and modern barn conversation with a lovely, large garden and an open view of the rolling countryside. Fire pit and hammock, with lots of shady places to relax in the garden with no near neighbours. English and Dutch neighbours in the lieu-dit. Large, covered terrace and smaller terrace outside, 3 double bedrooms, 2 modern bathrooms, sun room (for lessons), open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. Students are hosted in one of the two double modern and bright bedrooms (20 and 15 m2). They both offer a wardrobe, a dressing table, a bureau with views over the countryside and garden. Walking distance of a pretty local village with bakery, bar, creperie and where Susan attends fitness and yoga classes (in English).
