Minna
My name is Minna. I live at home with my eldest son Andreas who works as a financial trader, whilst my youngest son Mateos is a student at Cambridge University and lives away from home. My keen interest lays in cooking and baking. I am happy to prepare healthy homemade meals using fresh products to cater for the needs of international students. I take pride in looking after my guests and ensuring that everybody feels comfortable and at home in my house.
I enjoy gardening, country walks, swimming and I am also interested in watching films, reading and travelling.
I am a non-smoker, so is Andreas.
Your teacher
I am a qualified teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching students from around the world. You will receive an exceptional level of teaching, a comfortable and cosy environment to live in and delicious home cooked food. I have a University degree and have been a primary school teacher for 25 years in London. During this time, apart from being a class teacher I have held several senior leadership roles including Foundation Stage Leader and Assistant Head teacher for Inclusion in Primary and Junior Schools. Teaching has always been my greatest passion, as I thoroughly love working with students and ensuring that they reach their full potential. To reach this goal I plan each lesson based on the individual needs of the student by using relevant and interesting resources.
The home
The house is a lovingly and well maintained spacious 4 bedroom semi-detached home with two reception rooms, two bathrooms and a beautifully landscaped front and back garden with an outdoor BBQ area.
Your bedroom includes a double bed, bedside table, desk, wardrobe and drawers, bookshelf and an armchair. It has a lot of natural light making it cheery and spacious. The room is peaceful, comfortable and cosy. It overlooks the beautiful back garden and the neighbouring tennis courts.
The lessons take place in the dining-room and you are very welcome to spend time in the family living-room watching TV or having a chat with us.
Location
London offers an opportunity to explore new and historical attractions, to visit numerous theatres and museums, enjoy the Thames river, attend major sporting events, go shopping, and all this is only 25 minutes away from us by the easily accessible Harrow on-the-Hill tube station. There is also a direct and frequent bus service from Heathrow Airport to Harrow. From Kings Cross St Pancras Station you will be able to catch the Eurostar to France and Belgium, which is only 30 minutes from Harrow on-the-Hill station.
Things to do
Harrow is a beautiful area, famously known for the Harrow School where for instance, Sir Winston Churchill was educated. Our house is located less than a 5 minute-walk from the two shopping centres, a big modern cinema with several theatres, three major supermarkets, many cafes and fine restaurants. The Gold’s Gym is only a two minute-walk from our home, offering a wide range of gym equipment and activities. In addition, it also offers pilates, yoga, swimming, aqua aerobics and relaxation in sauna and steam room.
