Martin and his wife Cecile live in a semi-detached 3-bedroom house in Hove (Brighton). They have a daughter born in 2004 and a son born in 2005 who both attend a drama school at weekends and take auditions in London for TV!

Martin
Martin started his career teaching outdoor education before teaching Geography for many years in Scotland. He moved to Brighton from Dundee in 2011. He is an experienced Geography teacher, a former national adviser for teaching with emerging technology and a qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language. He was also a Parliamentary Adviser in the House of Commons focusing on communications from 2009 to 2015. Martin gained a Master’s degree in Corruption and Governance from University of Sussex in 2016. Martin offers excellent teaching to different age groups for: General English, Business English, preparation for IELTS, and Aviation English.

Louise
Louise (born in 2004) – hobbies include skiing, swimming, singing and reading. Both Louise and Lucas attend a drama school at weekends in Brighton and take auditions in London for TV, stage and musical theatre.

Cecile

Cecile is married to Martin and is originally from Brittany in France. They met in Chamonix on a climbing holiday in 2001, married in 2005. They have two children Louise and Lucas. Cecile is a former gymnastics coach. She has a degree in science from the University of Rennes. After becoming a mum she studied for a BSc Midwifery at the University of Dundee. She works for the National Health Service in Brighton. The family enjoys travelling in France: camping, skiing and walking in the Alps. When in Hove they make the most of Hove beach and the South Downs National Park.

Lucas
Lucas (born in 2005) – hobbies include skiing, swimming, acting, judo & minecraft.

The home

They have a typical semi-detached family house in Hove- built in 1938- with three bedrooms, sitting room and dining room, with a conservatory. The house has bay windows to the front, a porch and red tile roof. There is a drive, garden and garage. The student accommodation is a large furnished room with bay window, wall-mounted TV, desk and sofa. The family bathroom is shared.

Location

The house is only 10 minutes’ walk from Hove beach and Hove lagoon. There are two train stations nearby. Regular trains and buses connect Hove with Brighton town centre and other towns along the south coast.

Wifi is available, smokers are not accepted, garden.

Things to do

Portland road is five minutes’ walk away, with a variety of shops, family focused restaurants and pubs. Brighton town centre is an easy bus journey away. Take the train to London or Portsmouth for shopping and museums.
